• Guard Matt Guokas was badly injured in an early-morning car accident near Sicklerville, New Jersey, roughly 15 miles southeast of Philadelphia. At least four others were injured in the two-car crash, but Guokas's injuries were the most serious. He suffered a compound fracture of the left leg, with significant damage to his circulation in the limb, and doctors were considering the possible need to amputate.
